Congrats to all you awesome people who walk your talk and honor the commitments you make to yourselves!
The second of three strength cycles is over and now you have a glorious, relaxing deload week ahead (scroll down on how-to).
I am beyond pumped hearing about strength numbers you never thought possible and how awesome you’re feeling from the inside out.
Way to keep showing up for yourselves while most people defaulted back to their baseline habits and behaviors.
After this deload week, prepare to see:
even more lean, sculpted muscle
a better fit of your clothes
higher energy
greater bone density
better sleep, and…
better biomarkers!
Then, on to the third and final cycle of strength before we switch things up heading in to summer even stronger.
Pull Up Progress Update
For those of you following, me, Jonni (podcast co-host), and some friends set a New Year’s pull up goal that’s due this June 30.
Jonni’s goal is to do one strict pull up for her 52nd birthday.
My goal is to do a weighted one-rep pull up of 80lbs.
On Feb 8, we tested our progress so far after the first four weeks of training.
🥳 Jonni’s progressed from using 80lbs of assistance for a 1 rep max to using only 50lbs of assistance! All in only four weeks.
I’ve gone from doing one, 25lb weighted pull up to 45 lbs. See vid below.
We’ve got our work cut out for us these next 3.5 months. 😳
Remember: a strict pull up starts from a dead hang at full stretch. None of this bouncy partial business.
