Hey Frens!
This weekend I’m attempting 51 strict pull ups for my 51st birthday.
I wasn’t thinking strategically when I started this.
When/if I’m 80, I’ll have really painted myself into a corner trying 80 pull ups… or maybe not.
Maybe I’ll be that jacked senior citizen screaming at whippersnappers to get off my lawn.
Just kidding. We all know kids don’t play outside anymore. My lawn will look amazing and whippersnapper-free when I’m 80.
Anyway, it’s crossed my mind that I should’ve Benjamin Buttoned this and maybe remove a rep every year…. video to come. Whether I make it or not.
Moving On…
Just a little reminder-slash-kick-in-arse for those of you getting after the new workout (or new anything) to TRUST THE PROCESS.
I know it can often feel like you’re spinning wheels when it comes to achieving something in any facet.
But I PROMISE if you keep showing up and putting in the reps, one day it will all click. It will all come together and voila!
Just do not quit. Simply show up.
Not all reps, practice, drafts, or attempts will be pretty. Majority won’t be.
But you WILL get there if you simply show up and make whatever kind of deposit you can in the moment.
Something > nothing
Don’t worry about outcomes. Just make the deposit every day.
And say NO! to the things that don’t matter.

Hating on other people who have done the thing isn't doing the thing.
Hating on the obstacles in the way of doing the thing isn't doing the thing.
Fantasizing about all of the adoration you'll receive once you do the thing isn't doing the thing.
Reading about how to do the thing isn't doing the thing.

The only thing that is doing the thing is doing the thing.
